Contra Costa kids in community and play learn self-love, self-acceptance, and self-care.
Spring has sprung in the Bay Area!! We have been blessed with beautiful showers of rain that have saturated the earth and allowed for some of the greenest ethereal views that take my breath away. The hills were doused this morning by rays of sunshine coming over the horizon, and I even spotted some SNOW on Mt. Diablo! Sometimes I just have to pause and compliment mother nature on her feats of beauty. And that mountain... I love that I can see the top of that mountain from my morning drive.
At a retreat a few years ago, we did an exercise called Eye Gazing in partners. This is an ancient Buddhist meditative practice that can be deeply connecting and transformative as you gaze intently into another person's eyes for minutes on end. https://www.recipesforwellbeing.org/eye-gazing-meditation/
Once we were able to stop giggling, we reached some pretty deep spaces supporting each other in this way. At the end of the meditation the partner with whom I was Eye Gazing said, “I saw you standing on the top of a mountain alone with your hands out looking around for other people” Those words have stuck with me, and I reference them often. Feeling like you're standing on a mountaintop alone without other people who see you, understand you, connect with you, agree with you, share your worldview and similar goals, etc… Is part of being human. We have all felt this in one way or another from time to time. Sometimes having this feeling makes me feel lack. Like there's not enough. Like there's something missing. Sometimes it makes me feel abundant. Like I have a bird's eye view and am in complete command of the world I want to take in. The things I want to see and feel. The way I want to draw in the energy that I feel most aligned to. Like I'm immune, for just that moment, to the dis-ease that so many people surrounding me seem to feel daily. From the mountaintop, with the support of my divine team, I can see things with hope, optimism and elation. It makes me feel absolutely glorious.
Right now, as winter turns to spring, I feel myself coming out of a place of contemplation, introspection, and internal work. I am looking outward and slowly walking down from the mountaintop. I’m wondering what seeds have been germinating and are about to poke their heads through the damp, fertile soil.
I am noticing swarms of bees on the rosemary bushes and am reminded of the importance of being in community. Of being able to amplify my life through interconnectedness with others on my team and in my fields of interest. I am opening my heart and intention to cross paths with those who will bring out the best in me. I hope to be a reciprocal benefit to them. Together we can create the positive changes we know our world is just waiting to birth. The mushrooms (who are popping up everywhere after the heavy rains) are also sending their gentle reminders; Just as they do through their intricate sophisticated mycelium network rooted underground, they show me that in community we nurture each other, we nurse those around us back to health and full prosperity. They aptly demonstrate we are stronger because we are working together in community.
In this spirit, I am looking ahead at all the opportunities Soularium will have in the coming months to
gather in community!
Starting in just a couple of weeks we will welcome a homeschool group for our High Vibes session running April / May and I am in full creative flow getting materials ready and thinking about how to make this the most meaningful and dynamic experience for this crew!
Soularium Academy will have a booth at the Visions Vendor fairs (all four of them!) running from April to June. I hope you will stop by and say, “hi!”
I am eagerly anticipating meeting a new homeschool co-op group who scheduled a private booking during the month of May, and I am busy planning for their curated experience.
I am keeping my eye open for conferences I can attend to learn more about how I can partner with other organizations in this important work.
I am taking two online classes with other cohorts of people like me who want to expand their potential and offer their gifts to the world.
AND - TA, DA!!! We just launched registration for our Summer Camps!
That’s right - this summer your little angel can attend three different summer camps and I just can't wait to see who is going to share in these magical moments with me. I love the prospect of having 16 whole hours together to build momentum on concepts and dive deep into the curriculum. We’ve got outdoor and indoor fun marked by tons of hands-on activities, playing in community, and building our personal toolbox of self-love and self-care. Register below!
See you all soon, my loves! Thanks for being a part of my big, beautiful community!
Blessings always,
Holly
